Mumbai, 7th August 2008: The Indian International Jewelery Show (IIJS) kicked off on the 7th Aug at the NSE Complex,
Goregaon. IIJS is the year's most significant event for India's gem and jewellery industry. This year the IIJS has over 19,000
pre-registered visitors, 790 exhibitors and over 1600 booths. The IIJS 2008 has 7 country pavilions which are more than ever
before, including those from Italy, Belgium, Thailand, Japan, Dubai, Turkey and Israel, making this a truly global sourcing
event. Over 30,000 trade visitors are expected at the five-day show, each of them eager to transact major business,
whether it is sourcing inventory and new lines, identiying partners and collaborators,
or tracking trends and developments. 'Innovation' is the central theme of IIJS 2008, the objective is to
instill creative thinking not only in jewelry production but also in the field of business management.
The IIJS presents
a platform to understand the International market, the way modern Indian jewellery retailing industry is shaping up and the
groundwork to prepare for the changing times ahead. IIJS is an occasion when wholesalers and retail jewelers from across the
globe descend on Mumbai to plan their purchases, view the latest collections and develop new contacts and suppliers.
Says

Chetan Dhowan, CEO, Adora Jewelers has greater expectations from
the event this year. Adora has been a part of IIJS since 2003 & like every year they have something special to offer this
year too. This year they have the special Men's collection that is a rage in the fashion circuit presently. We also have a
new metal that we have invented called SILVADIUM that is made by combining Silver & palladium.
"We have a special
5 piece bridal set which includes a Necklace, Rings, Ear Rings, Bracelet & a Nose pin", said D'damas, Chief Operating
Officer, Arun Bhatnagar. According to Marketing Manager Amish Jhaveri of Sanghvi Exports, who deal with DTC diamonds, feels
that this is the best platform an Indian brand can get to receive International recognition.
When spoken to Chief Operating
Officer, Amrish Masalia, Nakshatra Diamond Jewellery, said that like every year they expect very good sales this year also.
He says that Nakshatra is a brand for women & diamonds define a woman the best. They have a new collection of diamond
necklaces to showcase this year.
Mr. Rajendra Jain, General Manager of ENLIGHTENED (part of Swarovski) feels that the
event has gone better by the years. Through IIJS 'Enlightened' replaces 'Signiti' as the Cubic Zincorcite brand.
